The Power Platform Governance Scorecard

You don't ban electricity — you build a grid. Governance is the wiring standards, circuit breakers, and meters that make speed safe.

1Inventory. Could you produce, today, a list of every app and flow in your tenant — with a named owner for each?
2Orphans. When a builder leaves the company, is there a defined path for what happens to what they built?
3Credentials. Are business-critical flows running on service identities — not someone's personal account?
4Environments. Is there anywhere to build other than the default environment — a real Dev/Test/Prod path for things that matter?
5Data policies. Do DLP policies exist that were deliberately designed — not just the tenant defaults nobody has reviewed?
6Intake. When someone wants to build something new, is there a known route — and does anyone actually use it?
7Criticality. Do you know which apps the business would miss by Friday if they stopped working tonight?
8Monitoring. When a critical flow fails, does a person find out from monitoring — or from the business, days later?
9Documentation. For your most important app: could a stranger operate it from the documentation that exists?
10Continuity. Is there a support path after go-live — someone accountable for keeping critical apps healthy?

16–20 · Governed. You're ahead of most estates. Keep the rhythm: re-run the inventory quarterly, and hold new builds to the same bar — our published Ø Standard is built for exactly that.
9–15 · Drifting. Value is being created faster than ownership. Fix in this order: (1) inventory with owners, (2) personal credentials off critical flows, (3) environments and DLP. Those three remove most of the 2 a.m. risk.
0–8 · Ungoverned. You're carrying risk you can't see — and the honest move is to measure before something forces it. Don't start with policy documents; start with knowing what exists.
